Seven Branches Venue and Inn (“Seven Branches,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website sevenbranchesvenueandinn.com (the “Site”) and the wine country venue and inn located at 450 W Spain St, Sonoma, CA 95476. Seven Branches is a property of Sonoma’s Best Hospitality Group. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the Site, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you — including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) for visitors located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to information collected offline or in person at the property, and it does not apply to the separate websites and privacy policies maintained by our affiliated brands, including Calm Spa (calmspasonoma.com) and Sonoma’s Best Hospitality Group (sonomasbesthg.com), or to the third-party applicant tracking system used for job applications.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you choose to give us through the Site, including:
- Contact and event inquiry forms (on the Contact, Weddings, and Corporate pages): first name, last name, mobile phone number, email address, how you heard about us, whether you’d like to receive email promotions, event date, estimated attendance, and a description of your event.
- Newsletter sign-up (“Stay in the Know for Sonoma”): email address, first name, last name, and the Sonoma-related interests you select (e.g., Events Around Town, Food and Drinks, Wine, Weddings and Events, Retail, Lodging and Spa). This form is powered by Mailchimp.
- Direct communications: if you email or call us, we collect your contact details and the content of your message, including any attachments.
1.2 Information Collected When You Book
Room reservations are made through ThinkReservations, a third-party booking platform (secure.thinkreservations.com). When you book a room, ThinkReservations collects your name, contact information, and payment card details on our behalf; Seven Branches does not directly collect or store your full payment card number. Spa treatments at our sister property, Calm Spa, are booked through calmspasonoma.com and are governed by Calm Spa’s own privacy policy, not this one.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
- Log files: IP address, browser type, internet service provider, date/time stamps, referring/exit pages, and click activity, collected by our hosting provider for security, administration, and analytics.
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies, described in Section 4 below.
- Tag management: the Site loads Google Tag Manager (container ID GTM-PKQNK55Q), which can be used to deploy analytics and marketing tags such as Google Analytics or advertising pixels.
1.4 Information Shared With Event Vendors
If you book a wedding or event with us, limited details you provide — such as dietary restrictions or allergy information — may be shared with our exclusive caterers, solely to fulfill your event.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and process room reservations and event bookings
- Communicate with you about your stay or event, including confirmations, updates, and logistics
- Send marketing emails and our Sonoma newsletter to subscribers who have opted in, and manage subscription preferences
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site
- Analyze Site traffic and usage trends
- Comply with legal, tax, licensing, and accounting obligations
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, and protect the safety of our guests, staff, and property
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Like most websites, the Site uses cookies and a cookie consent banner that lets you choose which categories of non-essential cookies to allow. Our current banner sorts cookies into the following categories:
- Necessary — required for core site functionality and security; cannot be disabled.
- Functional — support features like content sharing and feedback collection.
- Performance — help us understand key performance indicators for the Site.
- Analytics — help us understand how visitors interact with the Site (visits, bounce rate, traffic sources).
- Advertisement — used to provide relevant ads and measure marketing campaigns; may track you across other websites.
- Other/Uncategorized — cookies not yet classified into one of the categories above.
You can change your cookie choices at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the banner, or by adjusting your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site functions.
4. Third-Party Services and Embedded Content on This Site
The Site uses or links to the following third-party services, each of which may collect information directly from you subject to its own privacy policy:
- ThinkReservations — processes room reservations and payment card details.
- Mailchimp — manages our email newsletter sign-up and sends marketing emails to subscribers.
- Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — site traffic and usage analytics (tags to be confirmed per Section 1.3).
- Google Maps — embedded map on the Contact page.
- Vimeo — embedded video on the homepage.
- Calm Spa (calmspasonoma.com) — our sister property’s independent spa-booking site.
We do not control these third parties’ data practices. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.
5. How We Share Your Information
- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as ThinkReservations (bookings and payments), Mailchimp (email delivery), and our hosting and analytics providers.
- Event vendors, such as our exclusive caterers, limited to information needed to fulfill your event.
- Legal and safety purposes, including to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Seven Branches, our guests, or others.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of some or all of our business.
We do not sell personal information for money.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
7. Your Privacy Rights
7.1 California Residents (CCPA)
California consumers have the right to:
- Know/Access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Delete — request that we delete personal information we have collected from you.
- Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale/sharing — request that we not sell or share your personal information.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information — where applicable.
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
As of January 1, 2026, California also requires businesses to honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) and similar opt-out preference signals sent by your browser, and to visibly confirm when a signal has been honored (see Section 3). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13. We will respond within 45 days, which may be extended by an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary.
7.2 European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland Visitors (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process your personal information on one of the following legal bases: your consent (e.g., newsletter sign-up), performance of a contract (e.g., processing a reservation or event booking), or our legitimate interests (e.g., operating and securing the Site). You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, under certain conditions.
- Restriction — request that we limit how we use your data, under certain conditions.
- Objection — object to our processing of your data, under certain conditions.
- Portability — request that we transfer your data to you or another organization, under certain conditions.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to the United States (for example, to service providers such as ThinkReservations, Mailchimp, or Google), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the recipient’s certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where applicable. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information in Section 13. We will respond within one month, which may be extended by a further two months for complex requests.
8. Do Not Track and Opt-Out Preference Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to DNT, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals specifically. Separately, California law requires us to honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid CCPA opt-out request, with visible confirmation — see the placeholder note in Section 3 to confirm this is technically configured before publishing.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Site is a hospitality and events website intended for adults planning weddings, corporate events, or stays, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites, including ThinkReservations, Calm Spa, and Sonoma’s Best Hospitality Group. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
